Why We Became Jinxy Wishes

From the maker's bench

If you've been following along for a while, you'll have noticed something's changed. The cats are still here (all five of them, opinions intact), the wax is still handmade in small batches right here in Scotland - but the name above the door is new.

So, welcome to Jinxy Wishes. Here's the story.

🐾 Where it started

This business began the way most of these things do - a love of gorgeous scents and a refusal to settle for anything that didn't feel a little bit special. One batch of wax melts turned into two, two turned into twenty, and somewhere along the way a hobby quietly became something real.

✨ Why Jinxy Wishes

As the business grew, I wanted a name that actually meant something - not just a nice-sounding label, but a proper reflection of how I think about what I make.

The name comes from Jinx, my cat, who has contributed absolutely nothing to this business except moral support from a safe distance and an unshakeable belief that she runs the place. She does not. But she's exactly the right amount of mischief for what this brand is about.

Because that's the whole idea behind Jinxy Wishes: bad luck happens. Spilled wax, a fragrance blend that won't come together right, a jinx in the truest sense. But I'd always rather turn that into something good - a wish granted instead of a curse landed. Mischief, made beautiful. That's the philosophy behind every product I make.

🌙 What's actually changed

Honestly? Less than you'd think. Same handmade process, same small-batch care, same five deeply unhelpful cats supervising from a distance. What's changed is the look - a new palette of deep aubergine and soft pink, a moon-and-stars motif, and a name that finally feels like it fits.

I'm also using this fresh start to give some of the range a proper glow-up - new recipes, new packaging, and a few new scents I'm genuinely excited about. More on those soon.

💜 Thank you

If you've supported this business from the start, thank you - genuinely. And if you're new here, welcome. Either way, I hope you find a little magic in what's coming next.
